Happy August my people! I know it’s been a minute but Summer has been crazy for me! As a Welcome back, I wanted to do something different 🙂 Here’s a little taste of black girl magic for ya’ll.
These lovely ladies are Ashly Irby, (20) and Emily Crader, (21). They’re not just anybody by the way, they’re smart, hardworking college students and they’re my best friends of course! They’re ready to show how carefree they can be. These two made my vision come true! I’ve been meaning to mess around with photography more and here you have it, a shoot styled, and created by yours truly in the streets of South Central of course.
Babygirl in the white cropped-top is Emily Crader. She allowed me to style her, BUT since she’s my best friend I KNOW her sense of fashion. Therefore I mixed her fashion sense, with mine and we created this comfortable, and simple cute fit.
This babygirl right here is Ashly Irby. She styled her own outfit and she mentioned, “my go-to outfit for the Summer is an off the shoulder shirt, cropped-tops, shorts and sandals.”
Now, Emily mentioned that she always likes to look cute but still have that street, “boyish” style so for her this fit was perfect. “I still got to wear sneakers, and then the jeans were cute! added Emily. “Since they were ripped they still gave off that carefree tomboyish vibe.”
Ashly chose to rock a black bandana and American Apparel shorts. Her outfit gave me some early 2000’s vibes. Using the bandana as a shirt is the definition of a LOOK. If this becomes a trend again, we must give credit where it’s due. This bandana top is an example of street style in my opinion!
The hoops and the tiny black backpack were my go-to accessories for this shoot because the girls from the hood were the ones to rock the hoops at first. So I had to incorporate that in this photo session. The tiny backpacks are a ’90s trend that seems like it’s here to stay! Fashion is constantly recycled, it’s just revamped every time it comes back around.
I REALLY hope my girls influenced your fit of the day. I also hope you enjoyed my pictures. Just remember to be conscious about what you wear and where it originated from. Soooo stay woke my peoples! Especially when it comes to clothing, if you know what I mean. I know I wrote way less in this post, but I wanted my pictures to speak for me, I wanted ya’ll to look through my lens and enjoy my vision.
And just a reminder to all my viewers love yourselves. Embrace your body in whatever clothing, ignore these “beauty” standards society has put on ya’ll. Practice practice and practice that self-care, be happy, try to stay positive as much as possible and be socially aware, Thank youuuu <3.
